Amy Gutmann
Amy Gutmann is the Laurance S. Rockefeller
University Professor at Princeton University, where
she has taught since 1976. Among her publications
is Color Conscious: The Political Morality of Race
with Anthony Appiah, which won the 1997
American Political Science Association's Ralph J.
Bunche Award. Professor Gutmann received her
bachelor's degree from Harvard-Radcliffe College in
1971, a master's from the London School of
Economics in 1972 and a doctorate in government
from Harvard University in 1976. She will speak on
"Religious Liberty and Civil Responsibility."
